Some stories feel like they were meant to be wrapped in seasons. Meagan and Tyler’s journey from pregnancy to parenthood unfolded like a Maine fairytale—beginning with a snowstorm in March and blooming into golden spring sunlight by May.
Meagan was in her final stretch of medical school here in the Portland area, preparing to leave Maine and begin her next chapter down south. But before the boxes were packed and flights were booked, she and Tyler wanted to bottle up this chapter—the sweetness of their last season in New England as a family of two.
So we did just that, with a Bump to Birth photography experience that tells the whole story in soft, heartfelt frames.

Their maternity session took place during a wild March snowstorm—but inside Luxe Lounge in Auburn, everything felt warm, romantic, and still. This full-house studio is one of my most beloved Maine session spots. It gives cozy-home-meets-modern-studio vibes, with beautiful window light, soft textures, and room to move and breathe.

As snowflakes swirled outside, Meagan and Tyler moved with quiet tenderness. Their connection was calm, steady, and filled with anticipation. There was laughter. Hand squeezes. Bare feet on vintage rugs. And that beautiful pause right before everything changes.
This is what I love most about being a maternity photographer in Maine—each session feels like a poem waiting to be written in light.

By May, the snow had melted and the morning sun had returned—along with their beautiful new baby and graduation for Meagan. We met at Suite G Studio in Biddeford, a white-bricked mill space that beams with natural light and feels like a fresh breath of spring. It was the perfect place to document their first days as a new family.

These early sessions are never rushed. We follow the baby’s rhythm—pausing to feed, to cuddle, to breathe. That’s the heart of lifestyle newborn photography. It’s not about placing baby in a basket or trying to bend them to our will. It’s about capturing the soft magic of your actual moments and their natural attachment to you.

If you’re exploring newborn photography in Maine, you might notice two main styles: posed and lifestyle. I specialize exclusively in lifestyle newborn sessions, and here’s why:
As a Portland Maine motherhood photographer, I’ve found that lifestyle sessions result in the most meaningful images—ones you’ll treasure long after the tiny clothes have been folded away.

🌿 Safe, gentle, and baby-first: There are no unnatural poses. We move at your baby’s pace, always.
🌿 Emotion over aesthetics: The light in your partner’s eyes, the weight of your baby in your arms—these are the moments we hold on to.
🌿 Flexible locations: You can choose an intimate in-home session or a soft-light studio like Luxe Lounge or Suite G, depending on what fits your season.
🌿 No need to “perform”: These sessions are relaxed, honest, and pressure-free. Just show up and love on your baby—I’ll do the rest.
Meagan and Tyler’s experience was part of my Bump to Birth offering, which includes both a maternity and newborn session. It’s a beautiful way to tell the full story—from belly kicks to baby yawns. But if you’re someone who wants to keep documenting all those first-year milestones, I also offer Bump to First—a storytelling collection that follows your journey from pregnancy through baby’s first birthday.
Because the story doesn’t stop at birth. It’s just beginning.

Whether you’re local or here just for a season, I’d love to help tell your story. I specialize in natural, emotive storytelling for growing families—from the first flutter to that first family cuddle.
